Buffalo Black Achiever Award Presented to ˿Ƶ Director

AMHERST. N.Y. – Yolanda Morris, director of admissions events and special programs at ˿Ƶ College, was one of this year’s honorees at the 44th annual Buffalo Black Achievers Annual Awards dinner held on Oct. 8 at the Adam’s Mark Hotel.

 The event provides an opportunity for business, civic and religious organizations to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions in various career and community endeavors.

“Yolanda is a very essential part of the enrollment team and has been integral to our success,” said Dr. Patricia Ruppert Brown, vice president for enrollment management. “I extend my sincerest congratulations for this well-deserved recognition.”

Since joining ˿Ƶ in 2007, Morris has held several positions in the college’s admissions office before being named to her current director role. She is also advisor for the student organization Sister to Sister and has served on many college committees.

Outside of ˿Ƶ, Morris is a member of College Student Educators International and has been a presenter at regional professional conferences.

“I am honored to be recognized by Buffalo Black Achievers and to join my fellow award recipients who have contributed so much in our communities,” said Morris. “It is a great pleasure to be a part of the ˿Ƶ community and to have the opportunity to work with our many outstanding students, faculty and staff.”  

Morris earned a master’s degree in student personnel administration from SUNY Buffalo State and a bachelor’s degree in English and secondary education from Russell Sage College.

She resides in Williamsville.
