College Vice President Honored With Regional Award

AMHERST, N.Y. – Dr. Greg Nayor, vice president for student affairs and strategic initiatives at ˿Ƶ College, has been named the recipient of the 2019 National Association of Student Personnel Administrators Region II Fred Turner Award.

Nayor will receive the award at the NASPA Region II and Region III Joint Summer Conference and Symposium being held in June in Washington, D.C.

“I am deeply honored to be selected for this prestigious award,” said Nayor. “It is truly humbling to know that my ˿Ƶ colleagues and peers consider my NASPA efforts deserving of such tremendous recognition.”

The regional award recognizes a NASPA member with exceptional leadership performance in the organization at the national, regional, and state level, and contributes above and beyond normal service required for leadership positions.

 Active with NASPA for more than 15 years, Nayor is co-chair of the NASPA Region II Mid-Manager’s Institute and is a frequent speaker at NASPA conferences. He also previously served as corporate relations coordinator on the NASPA Region II Advisory Board, and was on the faculty of the NASPA AVP Institute.

Nayor, who joined ˿Ƶ in 2014 as vice president for student affairs and dean of students, was appointed to his current leadership role at the college last year. Prior to ˿Ƶ, he was assistant vice president for student affairs and dean of students at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and director of residence life at Lynchburg College in Virginia.

Nayor earned a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Virginia, and a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education, both from SUNY Potsdam.

He is a Williamsville resident.
