Jan 19, 2016AMHERST, N.Y. – Dr. Michele Flint, chairperson of accounting, business administration and paralegal studies and associate professor of accounting at ˿Ƶ College, has been selected for the prestigious Fulbright Specialist Program, which connects U.S. scholars and professionals with counterparts at institutions overseas.
“Dr. Flint is very deserving of this distinguished honor and it is a testament to the high quality faculty we have at ˿Ƶ,” said Dr. Michael Brogan, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college. “Her participation as a Fulbright Specialist will help broaden the college’s engagement with the international community and bring a new depth of experience to our academic programs.”
The Fulbright Specialist program awards grants to U.S. faculty and professionals to engage in short-term collaborative projects at institutions in more than 140 countries worldwide. Created in 2000 to complement the traditional Fulbright Scholar Program, specialist projects are designed to provide opportunities to partner with professional counterparts at host institutions on curriculum and faculty development, institutional planning and many other activities. Specialists must have both academic and professional expertise.

A certified public accountant, Flint, who has 35 years of experience in the accounting and finance field, specializes in accounting, finance, international business, higher education finance and governance, curriculum review, and accreditation.
Flint began her career with KPMG and then worked in banking and commercial industry prior to joining ˿Ƶ’s faculty in 2006. In addition to teaching, she has held the position of chairperson for the past two years. She currently serves as president of the Faculty Senate and has participated in many committees throughout her tenure at the college.
Her professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, Academy of Business Education, National Association of College and University Business Officials, and American Association of University Women.
Flint earned a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Rochester, an MBA from St. Bonaventure University, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Syracuse University.
She resides in Williamsville.
