Oct 28, 2016AMHERST, N.Y. – ˿Ƶ College has been ranked nationally on the list for “Best Bachelor’s in Human Resources Degrees” by College Choice, an online publication dedicated to helping students and families find the right college.
˿Ƶ’s ranking on the 2016 list places the college among the top 40 programs in the country and one of only four institutions across New York State to be selected.
“This new national ranking signifies the high level of excellence a ˿Ƶ education provides, and it is a great credit to the positive impact our faculty have on the success of our students and graduates,” said ˿Ƶ President Gary A. Olson. “We are pleased to be named one of the best programs in the country.”
The College Choice rankings are based on a UCLA Higher Education Research Institute national survey of college freshmen, who rated each institution’s academic reputation, financial aid offerings, cost, and graduate success rate. Other ranking sources included the National Center for Education Statistics, PayScale, and U.S. News & World Report. The list includes institutions that balance cost, reputation, and what a college can do to help a student achieve their goals.According to College Choice, “these schools are leading the way” in human resources education.
˿Ƶ’s ranking also included a high College Choice score, which is based on the institution’s reputation in the field and its return on investment.
˿Ƶ’s human resources curriculum, which aligns with the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) educational guidelines, is offered as a specialization in the business administration major.
“Our program links exceptional classroom learning with real-world experience through internships, connecting with professionals in the field, and active participation in our SHRM student chapter,” said Dr. Sharlene Buszka, human resources student advisor and associate professor of business administration. “This approach creates many rich learning opportunities for our students, which prepares them for meaningful careers in the HR field.”
