Kenyon Named Vice President for Information Technology at ˿Ƶ

AMHERST, N.Y. – ˿Ƶ College has announced the appointment of Melaine Kenyon, an accomplished IT professional with more than 20 years of experience in higher education, as vice president for information technology. Her appointment is effective Jan. 2, 2020.

In this role, Kenyon will serve as the chief information officer of the institution, and will provide vision, leadership, and innovation for the college in all areas related to information technology, including both academic and administrative applications.  

“Ms. Kenyon will be a valuable addition to ˿Ƶ’s executive leadership team, and I look forward to working with her to further ˿Ƶ’s reputation as an innovative and cutting-edge institution,” said President Gary A. Olson. “She brings to this position extensive experience in higher education.”

Kenyon comes to ˿Ƶ from SUNY Buffalo State, where she served as director for technology support services. During her long tenure at Buffalo State, Kenyon served in many leadership roles within the division of information technology, and she played key roles in many campus-wide initiatives related to the institution’s IT needs.

“I am excited about joining ˿Ƶ College’s senior leadership team,” said Kenyon. “˿Ƶ recognizes the importance of IT in higher education, and I look forward to playing a key role in its continued success.”

Active in the IT community, Kenyon has published several articles on higher education technology and has presented at numerous conferences promoting her work with distance learning and data-driven decision making within IT.

She received a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in library science, both from the University at Buffalo. She is also a graduate of the SUNY Strategic, Academic, Innovative Leadership Academy CIO Leadership Institute.

A native of Western New York, Kenyon resides in Lancaster.
