Lecture to Focus on Warfare’s Impact on European Refugees

AMHERST, N.Y. – The impact of the two World Wars on European refugees will be explored at a lecture being presented as part of the the ˿Ƶ College History and Politics Event Series at 7 p.m. Feb. 16 in Room 120 in the Research and Information Commons.  

“International Civil Wars and Forced Population Movements: Some Reflections From Europe Between the Two World Wars” will be discussed by Dr. Yaron Jean, who teaches modern history at the University of Haifa and Sapir College in Negev. He will talk about forced population movements in Europe between World War I and II and the impact this had on refugees during that period. 

The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is being co-sponsored by the ˿Ƶ Office of Academic Affairs, History and Political Science Department, and Global Programs Office.
