Academic and Wellness Center

In September of 2015, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ officially opened the Academic and Wellness Center, located at 4433 Main Street across the street from the main Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ campus.  The building, formerly the Northeast Family YMCA, was purchased by the University in 2013 and recently went through a $5.6 million refurbishment project to house state-of-the-art learning facilities for health-related academic programs, as well as recreational space for the university community.

Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Athletics oversees campus recreation and has a large stake in the building, operating the gymnasium and fitness center.

The gymnasium serves primarily as a campus recreation hub, open to the university community for various activities throughout the day, as well as Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ's expanding intramural program.  The gymnasium also provides a satellite practice location for Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ's intercollegiate athletics programs when the competition venue () is otherwise unavailable.

The modern fitness center, a 2,400-square-foot space, features nearly $200,000 in the latest equipment ranging from treadmills and elliptical machines to free weights and squat racks.  The cardiovascular equipment is all wired for internet and cable television connections, and also features plugins for mobile devices.  Open to the university community, the fitness center is designed for users with a range of athletic abilities as well as for strength and conditioning purposes for Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ's student-athletes.
