In order to avoid the appearance of impropriety or the financial exploitation of students, faculty members requiring self-authored peer-reviewed texts for courses should, as a courtesy, inform the relevant department’s full-time faculty or the appropriate members of the personnel committee in the event of a department with fewer than three faculty members. This policy does not apply to recommended or non peer-reviewed materials.
In-house, self-published materials in any media (books, CDs, DVDs, or materials reproduced by print shops) must be sold at cost.
