Complement and enhance your major area of study with one of the following minors offered by the Mathematics Department.

Computer Science

Programming skills are becoming increasingly more important in today’s economy. The Computer Science Minor will provide students with the skills and preparation they need for a computing-related career. Students will learn basic programming languages such as Java and C++ and develop skills in the design, analysis, and development of software, algorithms, and data structures. The Computer Science Minor complements a variety of majors, from the sciences, to business and the arts.

Mathematics

A Mathematics Minor provides an opportunity for students to develop a deeper understanding of their particular field, and the world around them. This is achieved through the development of problem-solving skills, analytic abilities, and logical thinking. After the calculus sequence, students will be exposed to classes that will help develop their abilities to form clear arguments, write clearly and concisely, and think logically and abstractly. The Mathematics minor complements a variety of majors, from education and the sciences, to business and the arts.
