Bartlo Elected President of International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) Middle States Region
Dr. Carol Bartlo, Assistant Professor, Department Chair, MBA Director, and Accreditation Director; and Steve Chasey, Assistant Professor for Business Administration/Sports Management at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ were elected as President and Vice President respectively of the (IACBE) Middle States Region in October.
Bartlo, who previously held the role of Vice President from 2022-2024, began her two-year term as President on October 25. Chasey also started his two-year term as Vice President on the same date.

Core Courses
The MBA in Accounting consists of five MBA courses (15 credits), along with seven Accounting courses (21 credits).
The Accounting courses in the MBA in Accounting include:
- Strategic Profitability Analysis
- Accounting Data Analytical Tools
- Advanced Taxation
- Advanced Auditing
- Global Finance Reporting and Statement Analysis
- Advanced Accounting
- Graduate Seminar in Accounting. The Graduate Seminar will address current issues in business and accounting as well as professional accounting ethics.
A Master of Business Administration, Accounting is a versatile degree that will not only prepare the student to sit for the CPA exam, but will provide exposure to a wide variety of business disciplines at the graduate level. Through the use of case studies and other current literature, students learn to make strategic business decisions building on the basic accounting skills developed as an undergraduate. Program Objectives include:
- Eligibility to sit for the New York State CPA Exam:
Students will meet the New York State education requirement for 150 hours for certification as a NYS CPA by completing a total of 159 credit hours. - Content knowledge:
Students will demonstrate content knowledge of the core business concepts, as well as specialized knowledge appropriate to the accounting profession to produce, analyze, and apply financial information for management decision-making. - Cross-disciplinary orientation:
Students will compare and contrast theories, concepts, and best practices within the context of integrated business processes. Students will analyze the implications of causal relationships and linkages through the study of relevant cross-disciplinary cases in each of the courses. - Decision making and organizational change:
Students will analyze complex business problems by leveraging technology and resources to formulate innovative strategies. Subsequently, students will apply change management theories and evaluate leadership techniques through role-playing and business scenario activities. - Ethical behavior and social responsibility:
Students will research the larger global, ethical, political, and legal environment of business to recommend specific and sustainable management decisions.
Prior to admission to Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ’s MBA in Accounting Program, applicants must meet one of the following educational criteria to ensure that completion of the program will meet the New York State Education Department’s CPA-150 licensure requirement.
- Applicants who have successfully completed Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ’s undergraduate degree in accounting.
- Applicants who have successfully completed an undergraduate degree in accounting from an AACSB or IACBE accredited program.
- Complete the online application.
- Submit a written statement which describes the applicant’s interest in the MBA program.
- Provide a resume of professional experience.
- Two letters of recommendation from an employer, professional colleague, or academic professor
- Official transcript(s) from all accredited colleges or universities attended indicating the award of an undergraduate degree (international applicants must submit foreign transcripts in the original language and an English copy).
- Applicants with a GPA of 3.0 or higher will be considered for admittance. Applicants may be provisionally admitted to the program, and if so, may take no more than six graduate core credits toward the MBA in Accounting degree until completion of the required foundation coursework, with a grade of B or higher.
Scholarships may not be combined; students may only receive one scholarship.
Graduate Merit Scholarship

Graduate Alumni Scholarship
Forty percent off the graduate per credit hour tuition rate awarded to accepted MBA students who are alumni of Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ College.
Americorps Matching Scholarship
Awarded to accepted MBA students who have completed an Americorps service commitment. Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ College will match the 100% of the Segal Americorps Education Award OR provide a 30% tuition scholarship discount for Americorps alumni enrolling in our MBA program.
