4+1 Dual Degree Program Between D’Youville College School Of Pharmacy and Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ College Master of Public Health Program
Students are offered the opportunity to earn a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) from D’Youville College located in Buffalo, NY and a Master of Public Health degree (MPH) from Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ College in a five-year program. The PharmD will be awarded through D’Youville College after four years and the Master of Public Health degree (MPH) will be awarded through Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ College after the fifth year of study. This format saves time and money compared to the six years it would take to complete each degree separately.
In addition to satisfying the general criteria for graduate admission to Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ College, applicants must:
- Possess a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.00 or above (on a 4.00 scale). Applicants with GPAs below 3.00 may be admitted on a conditional basis if they submit evidence of the potential to be successful in graduate studies. Additional evidence may include letters of recommendation and a personal interview with graduate program faculty.
- Submit a personal letter of application stating the candidate's reasons for seeking a Master of Public Health degree, discussion of experience relevant to public health, and leadership strengths.
- Two letters of recommendation from a major professor or professional colleague which evaluate the applicant's leadership potential and capacity to complete a Master of Public Health degree. *Character references will be accepted if the student wishes to submit additional recommendation letters.
- Provide official transcript(s) from all accredited colleges or universities attended indicating the award of an undergraduate degree. International applicants with undergraduate and graduate courses taken in a non-English language must have their transcripts evaluated by a credentialed evaluation service such as World Education Services (WES) or Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) for an official course-by-course credential evaluation.
- Submission of an official TOEFL score by each international applicant who has graduated from a foreign college or university and whose native language is not English. The minimum recommended TOEFL scores are: paper 580, computer 250, and internet 85. The minimum recommended International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score is 6.5.
- Paid or volunteer public health-related experience is recommended.
- Qualified candidates may also be scheduled for an interview with the MPH faculty as part of the admissions process.
