Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ was recently awarded funding from the Patrick P. Lee Foundation to provide annual scholarships of $10,000 to five (5) MSW Program students interested in clinical social work practice.
To be considered, students must enroll in the two-year MSW Program and complete a brief, 1-3 page essay that:
- Identifies that they currently live and/or work in the eight (8) county region of Western New York (i.e., Alleghany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, Wyoming)
- Addresses each of the following items:
- What are your goals as a clinical social worker?
- How do you envision using your training to help individuals with mental health diagnoses?
- Describe the population(s) you intend to serve.
- Identify setting(s) you envision yourself working in post-graduation.
- Discuss how securing this scholarship will help you realize your goals.
- Demonstrates financial need based on personal circumstances and/or education-related expenses; and
- Discusses a commitment to stay in the WNY region and contribute to the mental health workforce for at least five (5) years post-graduation.
Students who secure the scholarship must maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.5 or higher during their time in the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ MSW Program.
