Why did you choose Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ?

Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ offered everything I wanted in a college. I felt at home when I had first stepped onto campus. The school offers small classes, a tight-knit community, endless support from not only the faculty but fellow peers from all years and majors. Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ provides an environment that gives me all the advantages to excel in such a competitive program.

Why did you choose your present major?

Ever since I can remember, it has always been a dream of mine to be a professional in the medical field. I was unsure of where I wanted to place myself, but by taking the nursing path, I am able to continue to expand my horizons throughout my career; changing specialties if I so please!

Please briefly describe your Scholar's Day.

Scholar's Day was so exciting. Though I had found myself to be extremely nervous, once I had gotten into the interview room, it was casual and they were so kind. After my interview, the presentations on campus were great to attend, as I learned a lot about the campus itself and the laundry list of things Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ has to offer.

Please describe your academic experience at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ.

The coursework has been challenging. It has really helped me to not only work hard on learning the content but to also work on my time management and my priorities. I truly enjoy the challenging academic courses, as I know that it will benefit me in the future as I continue. Despite their difficulties, I am always interested in what I will be learning next in every class. The coursework completed at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ made my transition to my partner school, NCCC, to be extremely smooth!

Please describe any internship, study abroad, service learning or academic experience?

For service learning, I was lucky enough to participate in CAUSE, which is a program offered to the community that involves allied and unified sports. It was so rewarding and the participants were amazing! They were so eager each week to participate and were always ready for a good time. I found myself looking forward to CAUSE each week.

What piece of advice would you give to prospective students?

Be open-minded to anything and everything. I had come to school thinking that the major I had originally chosen was the fit, but with time, I soon realized that my real passion was nursing. Don't be afraid to step outside of your boundaries and try new things. Also, for electives, be adventurous and try something new!
