Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ

Scott Bieler, Dr. Olson and Dr. FordIn 2022, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ reorganized its academic structure to a three-college model: the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education; the College of Health, Human Sciences, and Business; and the College of Health Professions. The College of Health Professions houses the departments of Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies.

At the start of the 2023–24 academic year, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ’s College of Health Professions was named The Scott Bieler College of Health Professions in honor of Scott Bieler, a member of the university’s board of trustees and the president and CEO of West Herr Automotive Group. The university’s Academic & Wellness Center, which houses state-of-the-art learning facilities for health-related programs, was renamed the Scott Bieler College of Health Professions at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ.

Bieler served for nearly a decade as a member of the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Community Advisory Board and was appointed to the board of trustees in 2021. As the president of the Scott Bieler Foundation Inc., he is known as one of the most prolific benefactors of local healthcare causes and has invested in Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ and various organizations across the region to improve the health and welfare of individuals, advance biomedical research, and strengthen education.

Scott Bieler College of Health ProfessionsBieler’s most recent gift to the university includes scholarships for nursing and physical therapy students, medical education supplies, and the newest healthcare and educational technology — including a high-fidelity manikin and point-of-care ultrasound units in our Center for Interprofessional Learning and Simulation (CILS), and surgical operatory lights and real-time video streaming technology in our newly renovated gross anatomy lab.

The Bieler College joins a few newly named or renamed buildings or entities, including Saffrin Public Square, the John Yurtchuk Student Center, and the Alfiero School of Business.
