Animation student drawing on tablet˿Ƶ’s four-year Animation program, which first launched in 2011, continues to produce highly-trained graduates who consistently receive high accolades in their field. Animation students earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree while learning about character animation, storyboarding, CG modeling and rigging, 2D Harmony rigging, and character design. Importantly, faculty are industry professionals with experience working for Disney, DreamWorks, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and more.

˿Ƶ student-animated short films have regularly earned international recognition at the Telly Awards, which recognize TV commercials and programs, video and film, and online productions, drawing more than 12,000 entries each year. Students in the ˿Ƶ program have won 21 international Telly Awards in the last three years and brought home gold awards for the second year in a row.

Adding to a year of unprecedented achievements for the Animation program, four ˿Ƶ alums won an Annie Award in February 2024 for “Video Games,” which they produced for actor and comedian Jack Black. Jack Gato (2020) served as CG supervisor and he enlisted the talents of fellow ˿Ƶ alums Roberts (2020), Santos (2021), and Syracuse (2019). Their contributions included creating 3D models, rigging characters, animation, and oversight of all asset creation and rendering for the video. The accomplishments of our incredible alumni are a reflection of the care, dedication, and talent of the outstanding faculty in the Animation Program at ˿Ƶ. “Video Games” has been viewed more than 34 million times on YouTube.
