Insurance Requirements

All Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ residential students are required to have sufficient health insurance that will cover illness and injury in the Amherst/Buffalo, NY area.

Students must provide proof of active health insurance (waive) OR enroll in the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Student Health Insurance plan EACH ACADEMIC YEAR (prior to moving into the residence halls).

Ensure to read up on Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ's student health insurance requirements. Students who have not provided proof of insurance by move-in will not receive their residential key.

First-Year Housing Application & Roommate Preference

Once deposited, first-year students will complete their eRezLife application which includes various questions about students' living preferences, and the ability to select roommates. Visit our eRezLife page for steps on how to complete your application and request a roommate group. Housing & Residence Life will do its best to pair first-year students in doubles or triples in Canavan Hall. In mid-July each year, roommate information will be distributed electronically and be viewable on eRezLife.

If you are interested in purchasing renter's insurance, please visit our partner, GradGuard, for more information. Please review our Student Handbook for more information regarding policies on personal property damage.
