Program Benefits

  • Our Society for Human Resource Management’s aligned curriculum prepares students for the most important topics among business leaders today, including diversity ethics, and global management.
  • Students are connected to human resources professionals currently working in the field through experienced faculty and shared events with the . 
  • Students participate in the Society for Human Resource Management affiliated student club in which they plan and host human resources related events.
  • Program helps prepare graduates to take the Professional in Human Resources exam, which they may take after gaining two years of full-time exempt human resources work experience.
  • Students are required to complete a three-credit (120 hour) internship in an HR related position and many are offered full-time positions upon graduation. 
  • Students present an HR related training class to students during our Academic Festival every spring. Previous topics have included ethical hiring practices, landing your first professional job, emotionally intelligent leadership and the dos and don’ts of background checks.
  • Students are mentored to identify their personal interests and suitability for this specific career field.
  • One-on-one career coaching guides students to prepare for specialization related internships and supports them in the job search process.
